Kevin Albers, Ducts & Cleats and ISO-Aire, recently presented to APPA members on how “Filtration Infuses New Life Into Old Buildings.” ISO-Aire, engineered with 12-inch deep HEPA filters, offer an effective and powerful filtration solution for buildings of all ages and spaces of all sizes.

Last month, Kevin Albers, of Ducts & Cleats and ISO-Aire, led an educational session to highlight best practices around indoor air filtration solutions in older buildings utilizing proven clean air technologies such as medical-grade HEPA filtration. The presentation was part of the APPA Leadership in Educational Facilities Virtual Summit, which featured three days of educational programming, informational sessions, keynote speakers, and industry collaboration.

Kevin shared insights and best practices with the renowned organization of facilities professionals and building management leaders hailing from higher educational organizations across the country. His presentation titled “Infusing New Life into Old Buildings” highlighted how innovative and effective clean air technology can serve as a lifeline for old buildings while bringing safe, sanitized air to occupants.

Recommendations for Indoor Air Quality

Kevin encouraged attendees to reimagine their approach to indoor air quality inside historic, dated buildings by utilizing portable, in-space commercial air purifiers. Proven and powerful units, like ISO-Aire, are equipped with complementary layers of clean air components such as HEPA filtration, ozone-free bipolar ionization, and UVC sterilization which capture and destroy 99.99% of airborne pathogens and indoor pollutants.

“Regardless of the age of the structure, it’s critical to have a building’s indoor air quality at a safe level that doesn’t have a detrimental effect on occupants. Advances in filtration can be a boon for older facilities and is a sound long-term investment that will benefit the health and overall wellbeing of students, faculty and staff,” Kevin explained.

Historic buildings, such as this Washington, D.C. Center City Charter School facility, can benefit from in-space, medical-grade air purifiers to help maintain a clean, healthy environment for occupants. ISO-Aire air scrubbers continuously recirculate the indoor air to ensure 99.99% of airborne pathogens and indoor pollutants are captured and destroyed.
