An article published in the Northwest Indiana Times on July 23, 2020, discussed how the convention and visitor center installed the bipolar ionization technology offered by Global Plasma Solutions (GPS) to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

According to the article, GPS project manager, Doug Lavin, stated that third-party testing has shown that their ozone-free bipolar ionization technology kills 99.47% of the SARS-CoV-2 virus that causes COVID-19 in just 30 minutes.

The technology works by producing positively and negatively charged ions, which cluster and surround airborne particles, helping them to gain mass so they drop to the floor and can be caught by an air filter. They also help to neutralize, and even kill, the germs.

Bipolar ionization is gaining widespread interest as a way to help keep the air protected from airborne contaminants, and particularly at this time, free from SARS-CoV-2.

We at ISO-Aire use this powerful technology in combination with other significant air-cleaning technologies including a HEPA filter, which can filter 99.99% of air particulates equal to or larger than 0.3 microns in size (keep in mind that viruses spread through the air are usually in droplets that are 5 microns in size) as well as UVC, which has a long history as an effective germicide, and has been found by a recent study to effectively kill SARS-CoV-2. Because we combine all 3, we offer maximum protection for buildings to be open safely at an affordable price.
